Summer break will quickly pass and it will be time for us to get back together; we will let you know when that will be, as soon as we have the school calendar up.
Enjoy your break and be listening to some good zumba music; let us know on here or on facebook what they are.

Is it May already?
We can't believe that we are already here!! As we start to reflect on our last month before summer, we want to say a few things...
We want to thank each of you so much for making this year of Zumba at TSC so wonderful!
We feel so richly blessed to be a part of such a caring group of women.
Who would have ever thought that an exercise class could be such a family to us?
God is SO good!!
This ministry means so much to both of us and it is only by you coming that any of it is possible at all.
We want to encourage each of you to keep active over the summer and please keep in touch. We will continue to update the blog and Facebook often. We want to hear from you just as we do when we are having weekly classes. Feel free to email us or talk to us on Facebook. We will miss you over the break! But keep in mind that this break is short and we will be back, full force, in August.
We will also try to keep you updated with happenings at TSC if anyone is interested.

Testimony from Maria
In January of 2010, I found out that I had some fairly significant health issues going on. I felt fine, I mean, sure I could stand to lose some weight but who doesn’t say that, right? I was advised or prescribed to go on a low-glycemic diet and exercise with a goal of losing 60 pounds. SO, I began doing the new LG eating and thought about exercise. It took me a month to get up the nerve to try Zumba but I am SO GLAD I DID!!! I enjoy it so much!
I have met so many wonderful ladies through Zumba for Christ and it has helped me to stay accountable with my exercise. It’s a wonderful and safe environment, and uplifting to workout with my new friends every week. It is the only real exercise that I have stuck with consistently in my entire life. I have lost 49 pounds and have improved or rid myself completely of a lot of the health issues that I was diagnosed with. I feel wonderful, energetic, and can’t wait for class each week. I try to memorize verses to recite to myself when I feel like I won’t make it through a tough song or on a rough day. I am so thankful to have the music on the blog so that I can get an instant pick-me-up. I pray that the Lord will help me make wise choices and stick to what I need to do so that I may be used fully by Him. Making the changes that I have made have really helped me come more out of my shell and more comfortable reaching out to people that I would otherwise be “shy” about talking to, etc. I just want to encourage you to set goals, ask the Lord for help, get an accountable circle of friends, and keep coming to Zumba! It will make a difference that will help you make a difference in your life and the lives around you! Thank you to Candace, Kacey and TSC for providing this ministry!!!

Easter is coming! What does this mean??
Jesus knew the purpose for his life on earth. He endured the cross with that purpose in mind.
Luke 24:1-12 ESV
(1) But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. (2) And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, (3) but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. (4) While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. (5) And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? (6) He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, (7) that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.” (8) And they remembered his words, (9) and returning from the tomb they told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. (10) Now it was Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James and the other women with them who told these things to the apostles, (11) but these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them. (12) But Peter rose and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths by themselves; and he went home marveling at what had happened.
He is not here, but has risen
Praise Jesus!!
Thank you, Jesus, for saving me from my sin!
If you have questions about this Easter scripture, please come talk to us.
If you would like to come hear more, please come join TSC for church on Easter Sunday.
There will be services at 8:30, 9:45 and 11:15. We would love to have you there.

Testimony from Mia
I am one of the people Jennifer asked to come to zumba. Needless to say I was hooked after the first class. It’s a great way for me to spend time with my friends and all the new people I met and just some time for me. Every Monday and Thursday everyone who knows us at work ask if we are going to zumba. They know how happy it makes us and how much we talk about it. I think its even brought us closer as a team at work,
I have been trying to lose weight for a long time, I was walking about 3 or 4 miles a day, it was going well then it stopped working ,but since I started zumba and walking I have lost 38lbs.. Thanks to my friends telling me about this class I feel so much better about myself. I also have been struggling with things in my life and I guess I just forgot to look up, But I have been praying again and feeling better about that too. You both have touched a lot of lives when you do this class and I know good things will come your way. Thank you both so every much for letting me care about myself again.
Mia
Mia-We are so proud of you!! We love that you are coming to class and noticing not only changes in your body but in the way you see yourself!!
Way to go!!

Testimony from Jennifer
I had a friend come ask me to go to an exercise class with her back in October, and at first I was not so sure I would like it or even be able to keep up but said I'd try. The night of class, she canceled...but I went anyway and loved it. I was so surprised that exercising could be that fun. Since then I've got 5 other friends to come try it and 4 of them continue to go with me. As soon as we see each other at work, we say "ready for Zumba!?!" It's lifted our spirits so much we can hardly wait for 6:30 on Mondays and Thursdays! I personally love it not only do I physically feel better but it also helps me feel better about myself. I've also attended the church service on Sunday, with my husband and enjoyed that as well. And my daughter went to Sunday school and loved it, she talks about going to school at church all the time! Believe me if I can do it so can you!
Jennifer
Thank you, Jennifer for sharing your heart with us!!

Everyone needs some encouragement!
I'm always looking for ways to improve in the way that others see Jesus in me. I love to encourage others, but I know I don't do it enough! So, I decided to do some research on ways to encourage others and learning how to do it more and this is what I found.
Encouraging words can make a difference to someone and to you!
Here are a few ways that you can be more of an encourager. I know I want to be!
1: Use encouraging words.
* List the key people in your life.
*Beside each name, write how encouraging you are with that person.
*Pray for God to help be more uplifting to others through your speech.
2: Use your words to encourage others daily.
Make it a habit to encourage those around you.
* Make a brief note on a calendar each day you encourage someone.
* Keep an encouragement journal or diary.
I hope I can learn to put these practices more into my daily life. I want to lift others up and I want them to see the love of Christ when they see me.
I challenge you to do the same. When you come in for class get to know some of the other women that stand around you. Encourage each other. Sometimes that encouragment might be the only positive thing that has happened for that person all day!
Let's continue to do this!! Let's build each other up and not tear them down! Does the love of Christ show in your words to each other? I hope it does!
2 Samuel 2:6
May the LORD now show you kindness and faithfulness, and I too will show you the same favor because you have done this.

Welcome back!
We are so excited to start up the year with you! Just a few housekeeping things to be mindful of:
1. We follow the WCS schedule for the calendar year and weather. Some of you might notice that we have 2 classes that we will not be meeting on. One due to TSC needing the room for a previously scheduled event and the other one is for MLK Day.
We appreciate your flexibility.
2. As we encounter wet weather, please make sure that you clean off the bottom of your shoes before coming into the building. We want to do our best to keep everything looking clean.
3. If you are new or are bringing friends for the first time, please remember that the church's participation agreement that you all sign before participating, states that this class is for women only who are 13 years of age and older.
4. The church does not offer childcare. Please make arrangements before hand for your children. We would hate for you to be uninformed.
5. Make sure that you bring updated insurance information to class or feel free to email Candace (candacea@bellsouth.net) for any changes to your policy.
6. This playlist is very close to an hour long. We want to start on time so that everyone gets a good workout. Please make sure to come early to sign in and fellowship before we start.
We hope that you enjoyed your Christmas break. We are ready to see what God has in store for this ministry in 2011. New Year's resolutions are great, but remember to be realistic when setting your goals. This class is a fitness class, but it is also a great place to meet other women, hear about TSC and get a great workout while having fun, too. We hope that you will listen to this playlist before class on Monday. It will be easier to learn the moves if you already know the songs. We are going to challenge you this month with these songs. Please keep in mind that we have many weeks to learn them and we will do it together.
We love y'all and will see you on Monday.

New Playlist is up!
ARE YOU READY!! We hope so!
We know that December can be a really busy time...
places to go, people to meet, gifts to buy and wrap, food to eat...
The list can go on and on!
Please don't let the month overwhelm you. Make time to keep fit (in other words make time for TSC Zumba).
We are not holding anything back this month. It is really going to get you moving and sweating!!
Also, we want you to take the time to remember the true meaning of Christmas.
Luke 2:1-20 (New International Version, ©2010)
The Birth of Jesus
1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.
Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests!
We wish you and your family the best and have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Can you cook?
As I said last night, I'm going to explain how we can all help our community this Thanksgiving with the service opportunity between TSC and The Well.
The Well is offering meals to families that are in need for Thanksgiving. Thompson's Station Church has had members sign up to help donate food, set up, and deliver food on Wednesday, November 24th. If you want to help do any of this, please let us know. Zumba ladies are being asked to bake a dessert (or prepare one for being baked)for this cause. If you feel like you have the time to do this and want to help those in the community, we will have our sign up sheet with us on Monday. Desserts can either be dropped off at The Well on Wednesday, November 24th (during the afternoon because meals will be packaged starting at 6) or if you will be out of town you can bring your dessert to Zumba on Monday, November 22 and we will take it for you.
What a wonderful thing to provide for others around the holidays. If you have questions please let us know!
"If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?"
